Trivandi Meets VIPs in Turkmenistan

Trivandi took part in a major exhibition in Turkmenistan last week, as one of the 62 international companies from 15 countries who were selected as potential suppliers for the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG), to be held in Ashgabat in 2017.

The exhibition is the next stage in the country’s preparation for hosting its first major international sporting event, which ran until 5th April and was set up by the Turkmenistan Government to seek international expertise for the Games. Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan, Sapardurdy Toylyyev, officially opened the event at the Exhibition Palace in Ashgabat with the Chairman of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Sport, Batyr Orazov, and the Chairman of the AIMAG 2017 Organising Committee, Dayanch Gulgeldiyev, also present.

The AIMAG 2017 will involve 5,500 athletes from 62 countries, including those from Oceania, competing in 18 sports ranging from indoor athletics and swimming to a variety of martial arts disciplines. There will be 260 medal events.

Chairman of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Sport, Batyr Orazov, said:

“This exhibition has been a great opportunity for us to learn more about the services that we need to deliver a world class Games in 2017. All of the companies exhibiting here over the next few days are leaders in their fields and we are very confident that, with expertise from all over the world, Turkmenistan’s first major international sporting event at our brand new Olympic Complex will be a great success for our country and for the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).”
