2023 UCI Cycling World Championships

The 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships were held in Glasgow and across Scotland from 3-13 August 2023 and were the biggest cycling event ever staged.

Trivandi integrated within the existing Cycling World Championships central operational team to take over the logistical planning of the flag programme.

This involved successfully checking, sorting, distributing and managing 950+ flags across 90+ ceremonies for 10 World Championships at seven different venues, working closely with Girl Guides Scotland, who raised flags for every ceremony. All planned and delivered in just eight weeks.

Trivandi were responsible for sourcing and managing flag assets, checking, sorting, distributing, and managing the flags, teams and ceremonial choreography for all flag ceremonies on the ground, liaising directly with Event Delivery Partners and Sports Presentation entities, and assisting with engagement and management of the Girl Guides as flag bearers.

Trivandi also managed the checking and distribution of 200+ hand waver flags for the Opening Ceremony, and briefing of volunteers on protocol related to flag bearing.

“Trivandi worked with us on the ceremony protocol elements of the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships. Coming in late to the project they brought expertise, took ownership of the challenge and worked collaboratively with us and partners. This enabled delivery of fantastic moments for the deserving podium athletes. All the Trivandi personnel were professional and it was fantastic to have them as part of the cycling world championship team.” – Phil Heselwood, Director of Sport, UCI Cycling World Championships, Glasgow 2023
