Aston Villa Football Club – Villa Park Stadium

Aston Villa Football Club is a Premier League club based in Birmingham UK. The club, established in 1874 has played their games at Villa Park, their home since 1897. Villa is one of the founder members of the Football League (1888) and later the Premier League (1992).

Aston Villa Football Club has appointed Trivandi as the lead consultant to create a long-term redevelopment strategy and vision for Villa Park, one of world football’s oldest and most renowned venues.

After an audit of the existing infrastructure at Villa Park, Trivandi produced an in-depth feasibility study, focusing on commercial and operational opportunities to maintain Villa Park’s position as the number one “best in class” stadium and as a significant venue in the UK. The feasibility study incorporated business planning and commercial strategies into a phased approach to redevelopment over several years to support the sustainable medium to the long-term growth of the venue.

Trivandi then led the design team for the first phase of development, which centers on the design of a new North Stand, increasing the stadium capacity to over 50,000. Trivandi worked closely with the club and a range of stakeholders to develop a detailed brief and site masterplan, including a series of community and club facilities and the redevelopment of the public realm. The design pays homage to the historic fabric of Villa Park, focusing on operational and functional efficiencies. The vision is to transform the fan and visitor experience and enhance the civic focus of the club.

Additionally, Trivandi has assisted the club in developing a proposal to upgrade Villa Park into a UEFA tournament-ready venue, which has been submitted to both the FA and UEFA.
