Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games

With just 22 months to deliver, and a budget a fraction of previous editions, Glasgow 2026 had to find a fundamentally different way to deliver this year’s Commonwealth Games. The Organising Company (OC) recognised early that the traditional delivery model would need to change to ensure the Games were delivered on time and on budget in unprecedented circumstances, while creating lasting impact.​

Trivandi was appointed as Official Event Delivery Partner with 400 days to go. We were fully embedded inside the Organising Company, bringing integrated planning, overlay design and delivery, venue management, key operational services, workforce training and sustainability together within one integrated team.​

Trivandi mobilised 250+ event specialists, drawing on our global associate network and recruiting 60% from within Scotland, all trained through Trivandi Academy’s bespoke programme.​ Our flexible resourcing approach helped the Organising Company to keep its own core team lean at around 400 staff, compared with 2,166 at Birmingham 2022, with Trivandi bringing dedicated expert resource in as and when needed, allowing the OC to scale up and down to meeting specific requirements.

​This model ensured continuity across the the full project lifestyle, created time and cost efficiencies, reduced duplication and maximised resources - while building local skills and experience that will remain in Scotland beyond the Games. It provided a replicable framework for future hosts, demonstrating how cities can stage world-class sporting competitions through a leaner, more flexible and collaborative model, while delivering meaningful legacies. It has opened the door for nations and territories of all sizes and economic circumstances to host in the future, ​
