As the first zoo in Africa and the Middle East, this beloved institution is being reimagined as a world-class destination that honours its rich heritage while setting new standards for visitor experience and animal welfare. The reopening is planned for later this year.
Enhancing every guest journey through thoughtful design
Trivandi is working closely with the zoo team to enhance guest experience through thoughtful wayfinding and signage design. At this large and complex location, we're designing solutions that recognise how every visitor has different needs and expectations.
We're designing multiple routes through the zoo—animal-focused paths for wildlife enthusiasts, heritage building routes for visitors exploring the historic architecture, and botanic trails showcasing plant life and connecting to the Orman gardens.
We carried out a full masterplan analysis of the entire Giza Zoo and Orman Gardens sites to understand the opportunities and challenges from a guest experience perspective. Our expertise focuses on crowd flow analysis and arrival sequences, while identifying key dwell points that will serve as mapping points for the various routes.
Different guests are seeking different experiences — individuals need different guidance than regular families, while conservation enthusiasts have different interests than those focused on heritage. We design with these real people and real journeys in mind.
