With over 10 years of event industry experience, followed by 15 years teaching events in higher education, Emma combines her knowledge and experience of events with her expertise in teaching and learning to create powerful learning experiences. She focuses on the professional development of major event professionals - inspiring the next generation and briding the gap between academic knowledge and industry practice.

Achieving my PhD in event leadership whilst working full time as a senior lecturer was a key moment for me. Subsequently turning that work into a book led to my focus on taking academic knowledge and turning it into something useful and applicable for the event industry
